Girl Pods

Girl Pods are small-group art classes for girl-identifying youth who want to build creative confidence, try new materials, and grow their voice through making.

Many girls are taught—directly or quietly—to be careful, get it “right,” and avoid mistakes. But creativity works the opposite way. Making strong work requires experimenting, revising, and learning through trial-and-error. Girl Pods create space to practice that courage, and to build the habit of trying again.

Projects are skill-based, fun, and material-rich, drawing from sculpture, printmaking, fiber arts, design, painting, and mixed media. Over time, students build stronger creative independence, more confidence in their ideas, and a healthier relationship to learning.
